Mission Statement
- Promote the general health, safety, and welfare for the community members and business owners of the Town of Wiggins.
- To assist community members and businesses with the code and permit process, in achieving their goals with the least possible intrusion into their lives.
Responsibilities
- Assisting citizens and contractors in preparing and submitting documents for building permits.
- Reviewing building plans to ensure minimum requirements for life and safety.
- Performing building inspections at intervals in the construction process to ensure compliance with structural and safety codes.
- Inspecting unsafe building as requested by authorities.
- Providing contractor licensing/registration.
- Providing the public with monthly, quarterly and annual building statistics.
Energy Compliance Certificate
Notice to Contractors and Homeowners
The Town of Wigging is now requiring an ‘Energy Compliance Certificate” as part of the requirements to show compliance with 2018 International Energy Conservation Code. The certificate will be required on all new residential permits as of May of 2022.
Along with the certificate form, leak test reports for Ductwork and Building Envelope will be required. The Certificate form will be provided with approved documents and will also be available on Town of Wiggins Building department website and Procode website for download. Testing reports and certificate should be completed and available to the inspector during Final Inspections and will required prior to Certificate of Occupancy.

The form has been added to CASCADE and applicants will be able to download as they are completing the application. Also, applicants have to select a compliance option for the energy code (mandatory requirement) in order to move forward with the application process.

Contractors
License Information
The Town of Wiggins requires all contractors and sub contractors to have an appropriate contractor license, issued by the Town of Wiggins, to contract for general contracting, construction, mechanical, electrical, plumbing excavation, roofing, and concrete work within Town limits.
License Renewal
Contractor Licenses expire on December 31 of each calendar year and will need to be renewed online with Community Core. Community Core will send out reminders via email provided the contractor's information is updated within the system.
EXISTING USERS: If you use Community Core for other jurisdictions, use the same email and password as your other jurisdictions to register for Wiggins. Click on the email sent for email verification. Once you log in, you should see all your registered jurisdictions as options. CLICK HERE if you have other Community Core accounts.
NEW USERS: If you are a new contractor or new property owner or tenant, then use this link CLICK HERE to create a password and login to apply for building permits. Once you have created a new login and password - you will be sent an email with a link to verify your email. If the system does not automatically send you to the login page after you verify your email then CLICK HERE.
